All About Window Blinds

Venetian window blinds

You will pull on the strings on the sides of the blinds, and they will be raised from the bottom to the top. You can also pull on one of the strings on the side to open the slats to let light in, or you will twist a small rod that will cause them to open.
Mini window blinds
Mini blinds have the same design as the Venetian blinds, with the one major difference being that the slats are narrower than the traditional Venetian ones that are detailed above. One of the reasons some people choose to go with the mini blinds over the traditional Venetian blinds is because they want blinds for smaller windows and the traditional ones would look too large. Also, the mini blinds can let in more light without being opened as much, and many people prefer this for privacy reasons.
Pleated window shades
Pleated window shades are made of fabric, and instead of having openings between the slats, they are all one solid piece that has pleats you will control the direction of by pulling on the strings on either side of the shades. Many people like to go with these shades because they have a lighter and airier look to them that isn't quite as hard-looking in appearance as the other blinds.
Vertical window blinds
Vertical window blinds have unconnected slats that hang down freely. Most have vertical rods on one side of the blinds, and you will push the rod toward the center of the blinds in order to open them all the way. You can also open the slats by twisting that rod. These blinds are commonly chosen for sliding glass doors because they can be opened easily to allow in the desired amount of light. Also, they can be completely opened to let someone go through the sliding glass door. However, many people also like them for regular windows due to the nice look and functionality.
